A PLAY OF LIGHT
Bruma is an urban lighting system that will employ creative and interactive scenic illumination to help revitalize public spaces as centers of social interaction.
The processes of digitalization which have been on wide display in the last couple of decades have had a profound effect on the scale and possibilities of communication. It seems that these days, anybody can easily be reached anywhere and at any time. Nevertheless, the expansion of communication to the realm of the digital also went hand in hand with the declining role of public spaces as centers of social life, as well as the fall in quality of interpersonal relationships.
In order to try and reverse this trend and bring communication back to the sphere of the personal, we set out and designed Bruma, our newest urban lighting system. It aims to contribute towards the reactivation of public spaces as primary points of socialization and public conversation through the esthetic effects it will create with its creative scenic illumination patterns based on the rhythms of natural ecosystems that will enhance the overall attractiveness and atmosphere of public spaces.
Bruma is fundamentally conceived as a system of light. Individual luminaires will be interconnected and capable of producing coordinated and dynamic color effects which will be triggered either automatically based on movement detection or manually via mobile application or special wireless physical switches. In addition to employing highly efficient LED technology, the system will also be distinguished by the flexibility of its implementation due to its modular design, as well as an advanced regulation system that uses modern communicational protocols, such as Bluetooth.
Bruma’s natural habitats will therefore be parks, historic city centers, walking paths and all other urban spaces which demand that light not only illuminates, but also beautifies its surroundings, making them shine and transforming them into a public medium where stories are shared and new ideas are born.
The first prototypes of Bruma, our innovative urban LED illumination system, that is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), will already be exhibited at Light + Building 2020, the upcoming international fair that will take place at Frankfurt am Main in Germany between 8th and 13th of March.
Just another one in the long line of reasons to come and find us at stand C80 in Hall 4.0, then!
