We received the Red Dot award!
We were delighted at the news of the success of our Plain I luminaire at the internationally renowned Red Dot Award: Product Design competition in which more than 6300 awards from 59 countries were on display. Expert members of the jury were convinced by the synthesis of design and technology which resulted in a seamless implementation of esthetical and functional aspects in the final product.
The extremely sleek housing was made possible by an inventive approach of dislocating the power supply unit from the lighting module and placing it instead in the lighting pole which also simplified the luminaire’s maintenance process. By employing an innovatively designed mounting bracket it is possible to achieve a minute and at the same time stable angle adjustment of the luminaire, which can also be altered after its installation. The modular nature of the luminaire allows the choice of a wide range of optical configurations thus widening the areas of its application considerably.<br /><br />“The considered design of the Geolux Plain I LED luminaire is appealing because of the innovative application of technology and its attractive, urban styling.” – Statement of the jury
