ALIVE AT NIGHT – OUR TAILOR-MADE EVENT LIGHTING IS READY TO GO!
It was our great pleasure to participate in the construction of the event venue and stage complex at Lake Velenje with our custom-built lighting system that combines our custom-built components, in-house knowledge, and lighting solutions from our international partners.
The quick development of the city of Velenje (Slovenia) in the middle of the 20th century and its overall identity are closely connected to the industry of coal mining which has also had a visible impact on the local environment. Over the years, the city has undertaken intensive redevelopment efforts to transform the areas affected by coal mining operations into functional spaces for residents and visitors. A case in point are Velenje’s three artificial lakes, which have become one of the city’s recreational and tourist focal points.
With the successful construction of the event venue and stage complex at Lake Velenje, conceived by the architect Rok Poles, the municipality is continuing this trend of comprehensive transformation. The project’s realization will not only result in the redevelopment of an area measuring more than 46 thousand square meters, but also further establish it as one of the central cultural and social points for the organization of concerts, workshops and other events, as well leisure activities.
A properly designed and implemented lighting system is essential for the proper functioning of the entire complex. It has to ensure proper illumination of footpaths and directional lighting of event areas proper, as well as provide more esthetically oriented ambiental lighting in order to creating a pleasing overall atmosphere.
Six massive lighting pillars are placed carefully around the event venue in order to provide proper functional and esthetical illumination of the area. Each of the pillars carries six Lightstream LED spotlights made by our German partner RZB that are characterized by their durable enclosures, low levels of glare and high efficiency. This allows all of the 36 spotlights to generate more than 800.000 lumens of total light output!
The functional illumination is further complemented by the three custom-made lighting modules that are placed in the base section of each pillar that ensure the functional illumination of footpaths, thus increasing visibility and safety of the visitors. To address the need for adaptable ambiental lighting, we also added an RGBW lighting module, made by Griven, at the top of each pillar. A sophisticated control system automatically regulates the lighting of the base modules, while also allowing for precise and straightforward configuration of the color output from the RGBW module and reflector illumination levels to offer optimal blend of light and color for any situation.
